■ Jurisdiction Moves

Texas is paused. The Governor ordered PUCT and ERCOT to halt new data-center grid connections pending a verification audit of 474 GW of requests — five times the state's record peak. ERCOT's "Batch Zero" classifications are suspended. If your Texas strategy assumed the queue was a schedule, it's now a question. Watch the PUCT open meeting this week; it decides whether this is weeks or quarters.

New York's 50 MW line. EO 62's one-year permitting pause applies above 50 MW of expected draw. We're already seeing concepts resized to 49.

■ Queue Watch

Wood Mackenzie's new number is the one to internalize: of 1,066 GW requested nationally, grids will serve roughly 298. The queue is not a demand signal — it's a deduplication problem. Georgia Power's pipeline shrinking 6 GW in a quarter is what honesty looks like; queues that only grow are the ones to distrust.

■ Ordinance Watch

Limerick Township, PA set data center setbacks at 1,000 feet from occupied residences — the largest we've coded. The dBC low-frequency noise metric (Goochland Co., VA) has now been copied into a Michigan draft. Trend to price in: parameters are converging on measurable, mappable numbers. That's bad for vibes-based siting and good for anyone who can run a setback model before optioning land.
